Adequate electrolyte levels in horses are essential for the regulation of their heartbeat, circulatory system, muscle contraction, nerve pulse transmission and digestion process. Without electrolytes, horses can not properly retain and utilise water leading to dehydration; which causes cell function in the muscles, gut and heart to slow and, in severe cases, shut down.

Competition1 scoop (25g) within one to two hours prior to competition. Provide one scoop (25g) after the competition. In addition offer fresh, untreated water and allow horses to consume as needed.

Important: When adding CEN Complete Electrolyte to drinking water, it is recommended that an additional bucket of fresh, untreated drinking water be provided. Allow the horse to consume water as needed. Do not restrict access to clean drinking water. Provide clean water available at all times.

Not all electrolyte supplements are created equal. Many contain sugar and other fillers, which is not desirable. This is especially for horses with IR and other metabolic conditions. Does CEN Complete Electrolyte dissolve in water?

Yes, it fully dissolves which eliminates wastage when feeding.

When does my horse require electrolytes?

Electrolytes are best fed when in times of sweating from humid weather/high temperature or increased workload. An electrolyte deficiency can have negative effects on performance and in particular muscle health.

When to feed CEN Complete Electrolyte?

Feed between 2-4 hrs prior the event/work and provide fresh, clean water so the horse can sufficiently hydrate.

Feed for recovery after the event/work within 1-2 hrs and provide fresh, clean water for hydration.

Amounts depend on a horse size and workload.

What does the CEN Complete Electrolyte SMELL like?

It has a vanilla bean aroma. Some customers say it smells like a vanilla cupcake 🙂

Is CEN Complete Electrolyte safe for horses prone to LAMINITIS?

Yes very safe, it contains 0% Sugar and Starch.

Can I feed salt with CEN Complete Electrolyte?

Yes, salt only contains Sodium and Chloride which is required daily. CEN Complete Electrolyte is an excellent addition on top as it matches approx. the electrolyte levels lost in sweat.
